HIV PREVENTION SPECIALIST
BETAH Associates Facilitator/Behavioral Intervention Specialist
to manage HIV education programs designed to prevent new HIV
infections among men in Montgomery County, Maryland.
Provide HIV/AIDS/STD education and risk reduction strategies using the Many Men, Many Voices and RISE Plus curricula. Coordinate outreach, enrollment, scheduling, and referrals for retreats, group sessions, and individual counseling sessions. Supervise small group peer facilitators. Administer reporting tools and evaluation instruments.
Understanding of MSM health issues, experience with facilitating groups and implementing behavioral interventions, skills in HIV prevention risk reduction or harm reduction counseling, and cultural competence in working with the target population. With previous training or experience in facilitating Many Men, Many Voices (3MV) strongly preferred" should also help in finding matching skills.
Bachelor’s degree preferably in social work, health
education, psychology, or gay and lesbian studies. 5 years
of experience implementing behavioral interventions may be
substituted for the bachelor’s degree depending on the
