The Aegis Awards are peer-judged honors recognizing excellence in the video production industry.The 90-minute satellite conference, which addressed the impact of HIV/AIDS on the African American community, was transmitted live on November 30, 1999, from the campuses of five Historically Black Colleges and Universities. For the event, which was co-hosted by local community-based organizations and several Historically Black Colleges and Universities, BETAH staff undertook the formidable task of researching, assembling, and directing the professional, technical, and production teams, and advised on all aspects of creative development and production. More than 40 downlink sites watched the conference, which was also seen on cable television and over the Internet. |
