The following is
a list of BETAH's current contracts. BETAH provides technical assistance
in a variety of areas, such as outreach, conference planning, library
operations, and public-private partnership formation for clients such
as the Departments of Health and Human Services, Veterans Affairs, and
Housing and Urban Development.
Under a subcontract, BETAH provides technical assistance to Ryan White
Comprehensive AIDS Resource Emergency (CARE) Act grant-supported programs
administered by HRSA/HAB. Support is available to CARE Act grantees,
planning bodies, and service providers. Assistance can take a variety
of forms, including MIS/Data Management, Program Development and Evaluation,
Strategic Planning, and Financial Management.
The Directory of Information Resources Online
(DIRLINE) is a database containing descriptive and locator information
about a wide variety of information resources on health and biomedicine
that can be provided to users. These information resources fall into
categories from Federal, State, and local government agencies to information
and referral centers, and from self-help groups to research institutions.
The purpose of this project is to create and maintain NLM (general biomedical
resources) and HSRI (health services research and technology) records
for DIRLINE.
Under this contract, BETAH is working with HRSA
to: develop conference plans, policies, and conference/meeting technical
materials; manage conference logistics and communications; and provide
meeting planning and logistical support services to the HRSA Division
of Medicine for 10 Advisory Committee Meetings. These efforts include
support in such tasks as site selection, contract negotiations, participant
information and registration, travel logistics, and on-site management,
among others.
BETAH is providing overall conference management,
documentation, and analytical services in support of NIDCR R&D programs,
which primarily focus on research and treatment of diseases and conditions
that affect a person's dental and craniofacial areas. The full complement
of BETAH's meeting-planning support services include meeting-materials
development, transcription and summary writing support, reports to project
officers, and other assistance.
Under a subcontract, BETAH provides management and operations services
to the Office of Population Affairs (OPA) Clearinghouse. The OPA advises
the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services on reproductive
health topics and, among other activities, distributes information publications
through the Clearinghouse. BETAH manages every aspect of the Clearinghouse’s
operations, including coordinating and maintaining the Family Planning
Clinic Directory database, answering inquiries, developing informational
publications, providing general and special mailing, and other services.
BETAH provides administrative/clerical services
to the Naval Air Systems Team (TEAM), which conducts research and development
activities and tests and evaluates aircraft weapons, satellites, and
their associated support systems. Support is given to offices such as
Personal Property, the Family Service Center, Public Works, Shore Station
Management, and Housing. Administrative support includes processing
travel orders, typing Naval messages and correspondence, answering phones,
scheduling conference rooms, and preparing presentations.
Under a subcontract, BETAH provides reference, information assistance,
and customer support to the reference desk of the National Library of
Medicine (NLM), the largest medical library in the world. BETAH staff
provides first-level support in answering e-mail inquiries, as well
as providing medical reference support and assistance to NLM users by
investigating and resolving information inquiries and problems; assisting
customers in accessing NLM databases and general medical reference resources,
and responding to inquiries regarding NLM policies.
BETAH was recently selected to provide support
under an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract that
meets the needs of the Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS), Substance
Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), particularly
services for Program-Related Projects and Policy Formation and Analysis
Projects.
BETAH provides technical support to the Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), its grantees, and other partners
in the delivery of HIV, STD, and TB prevention programs and related
prevention services. This ongoing technical support takes the form of
consultation, guidelines, training, capacity building and performance
of surveillance, prevention interventions, and program planning, management,
and evaluation.
BETAH provides logistical and administrative
support for conferences and meetings to the Office of the Director,
National Institute on Mental Health (NIMH). Tasks performed under the
contract include creating workplans and budgets; identifying meeting
sites and negotiating contracts; preparing meeting materials; arranging
travel and lodging; providing onsite meeting management; conducting
post-conference activities; and other services.
